1957: Edward Hydo was born in 1st July 1957 in a small village in Screen which is part of a bigger city named Duhok, a town village located in the north of Iraq.
1979: In 1979 Edward Hydo received a higher school certificate excelling in the area of graphic design.
1982: Between the years of 1982 to 1985 Edward Hydo entered in Art Design competitions and received four prestigious awards for his large portraits depicting the leaders of Iraq.
1985: Between the years 1985 – 1991 Edward painted over 500 large portraits for the Iraqi president
1986: On the 1st of April 1986 Mr Hydo was invited to Jordon by King Hussein himself. During the course of his visit, Edward was presented with a gift and was shown appreciation for the portrait he painted which was given to King Hussein by the Iraqi Government.
In the same year Edward Hydo also received the most notorious art award after wining a national art competition based on a remembrance day for the armies of Iraq. With this recognition Edward was offered a scholarship to study in Iraq’s academy of Fine Arts. This scholarship was presented to him by the president of Iraq.
1992: In August 1992 Edward and his family fled to Turkey. He painted 6 Panorama paintings. They were 4m by 2.5m landscape size. The paintings were placed in the reception hall of a government building in the city of Sivas. Furthermore Edward created two more portraits of the activist of Atatturk. These artworks were published in Sivus government magazines.
1993: Edward and his family arrived in Australia
1994: In 1994 his artworks were displayed in an Assyrian exhibition and during the month of September he attended the Assyrian convention in the state of a California America and had artworks exhibited there as well.
1995: In 1995 Edward created a portrait of the Prime minister of Australia Paul Keating. In the same year he exhibited his work with a group of Iraqi artists in the school of fine arts in Fairfield.
1997: In 1997 the Assyrian community presented Edward with an award for the best Assyrian artist.
1998: In 1998 the School of Art in Parramatta invited him to paint in a live show using a pallet knife and brush to create a landscape image.
In the following year Edward painted a large artwork of Assyrian Rom Rama for the Gilgamesh committee.
From the years 1997, 1998 and 1999 Edward painted large portraits to advertise the singers from Bibliss Company.
2000: In the year 2000, after Ian Thorpes triumph in the Olympic Games Edward painted a large portrait of the hero. He was a contender for the Archibald awards.
From the years 2000 onwards Edward created many paintings depicting the different Churches in Sydney N.S.W, national sporting events like Rugby, Cricket, Snooker and Horse Racing.
2006: After the tragic death of Steve Irwin in 2006 Edward Hydo created a large portrait titled the golden life of Steve Irwin. In this artwork Edward depicted Irwin as an Iconic Australian Hero.
