Severe destruction is evident in the eastern side of Khan Younis, southern Gaza, following a nine-day Israeli military operation. Houses, roads and key infrastructure were targeted, rendering the area uninhabitable. Over 250 Palestinians were killed and 300 wounded. Despite the devastation, families are returning, erecting makeshift tents and checking on their homes, determined to remain in their homeland. Al Jazeera’s Tareq Abu Azzoum reports from Khan Younis, Palestine.
