A girl in Gaza has been left with life-changing injuries to her face after an Israeli strike. Non-government organisations, doctors and activists are calling on Israel to allow Mazyouna to leave the strip, so she can get reconstructive treatment. Israel has refused her family’s requests for a medical evacuation five times.
Al Jazeera’s Hani Mahmoud reports from Deir el-Balah in central Gaza, Palestine. Doctor Mohammed Tahir is a surgeon working with Mazyounah in Gaza as a for medical aid group FAJR Scientific. He says her condition is getting worse and the expertise to treat her doesn’t exist in the strip.
